JurisDiscovery can package a case and its underlying data so it can be moved into JurisTrial for presentation, or pulled back from JurisTrial when you need to continue working on it. This guide covers both directions: transferring an entire case, and transferring just the case data.

For moving a case between firms or between devices, use JurisPrep cloud sync instead. The import/export workflows below are designed for local, application-to-application transfers; JurisPrep is the gateway for cross-device and cross-firm collaboration.

Choosing the right workflow

Transfer a full case

Move an entire case—structure and contents—between JurisDiscovery and JurisTrial.

Transfer case data only

Move just the underlying case data when the case already exists on both sides.

Import / Export a case

Use this workflow when you want to hand a complete case off to JurisTrial for the courtroom, or bring a case back into JurisDiscovery to keep building it.

Export a case to JurisTrial

Open the case in JurisDiscovery

Select the case you want to send to JurisTrial.

Start the export to JurisTrial

Choose the option to export the case to the JurisTrial application.

Confirm what to include

Review the case contents that will travel with the export.

Generate the export package

Complete the export so the case is ready to be opened in JurisTrial.

Import a case from JurisTrial

Open JurisDiscovery

Make sure you are working in the JurisDiscovery application.

Choose import from JurisTrial

Select the option to import a case from the JurisTrial application.

Pick the case package created in JurisTrial and complete the import.

In JurisDiscovery, open the case whose data you want to export.
